We are excited to share some updates with you about our club, a recap from our annual meeting, and our plans for the spring 2024 season.First of all, we want to thank all of you for your support and participation in our club during the spring 2023 season. Another important update that we’d like to share with you related to our high school team… The Woodinville Girls Lacrosse (WGL) Board and Booster Club have decided to no longer financially support a lacrosse team through Woodinville High School, but instead to operate our own independent high school team within our community for 9th-12th grade players, as we successfully did for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

By operating our own high school team, we will have more flexibility and autonomy in the experiences we are able to provide to our players, ranging from additional games, joint practices and scrimmages, participation in travel tournaments and showcases, as well as flexible transportation options while in season. We will also be able to keep our registration fees lower and more affordable, using our funds more efficiently and effectively to support our program, players and families. Our high school team will continue to fully participate in the Washington State Lacrosse Associate (WSLA), the governing body for girls’ lacrosse in Washington state as we have since our founding.

In closing, we want to thank our volunteer board members, our volunteer youth coaches, and our high school coaches for their time, dedication, and passion for our players and the sport of lacrosse. They are the backbone of our organization, and we are grateful for their leadership and service. We also want to thank you, our lacrosse community, for your enthusiasm, commitment, and support. You are the reason we do what we do, and we appreciate you being part of our Woodinville Girls Lacrosse family.

Sincerely, Catie Thorpe
